Road Sign: A Day of Blessing

On the 4th of July, we always celebrate the land of the free and the home of the brave, America the beautiful. There are parades and cook-outs and fireworks.

God bless America!

On the 4th of July, our family also celebrates an anniversary...a wedding anniversary...my in-law's wedding anniversary. They come over. When summer storms do not interrupt, we sit by the pool. We frolic and swim and sip sweet tea. I cook. Then we gather around the table. We eat. We drink. We reminisce. Yesterday they celebrated 48 years of marriage.

God bless them!

This year, on the 4th of July, we celebrated something NEW, something UNEXPECTED, something UNLIKELY! I received an email from our USCIS officer. She had gone in to work and approved our I-800 applications. 'Thunder' and 'Lightning', free and brave, will be coming home to this great land soon...VERY soon.

God bless the ordinary angels!
