Mile after Mile

Aside from the normal 'busy', life here is quiet right now.

Our front door is no longer a revolving door for the coming and going of any number of migrant children at any time on any given day.  The families have all moved on.  There IS a hole in my heart.

Knight in Shining Armor is tending to business right here in our own home town.  He is no longer traveling to oversee projects in far off cities.

The holidays that descended on us like a B52 bomber exploding in our living room are long gone.  The rubble left behind in every nook and cranny has been cleaned up and cleaned out.

True Princess GA has had a light bulb moment.  After being bullied for a long time, she has accepted the fact that she needs to make new friends and not necessarily keep the old.

High school JV Girls Basketball winds up its season tonight with an away game across town.  Next week, there will be no more daily practices; no more twice a week games for Fair Maiden.

The reality of an aggressive cancer has invaded our life as a family member near and dear to our hearts undergoes chemotherapy.  It is an everyday battle fought one move at a time. God is large and in charge.

After months of feeling  like we have been stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire, we are finally re-gaining speed on 'the Adoption Highway'.  We are on our way to Colombia.  Our home study has been updated and declares that we are requesting two siblings ages 0-8 with a preference for the oldest to be a male and the youngest, of either gender, to be under the age of 6.  With the completion of our updated home study came the submission of our I-800A application on Friday, February 3, 2012!  Now we WAIT.

Our caseworker has shared with us that the director of a private orphanage (casa or IAPA) in Bogota, Colombia, is anxiously awaiting the presentation of our dossier.  This orphanage has sibling sets!  They have boys!  OH MY!

"Then Jesus said, 'Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?'"
John 11:40 (NIV)
