Caution: Divine Disappointments on the Highway

Tuesday has come...and gone.

What would have been, could have been, should have been....wasn't.

No immigration approval.

The Hague Officer issued an RFE (Request For Evidence) Letter.

As a result, our approval is still pending, and subject to delay.

Disappointed.

As I was studying Ephesians chapter 3 this week in conjunction with our current sermon series at church, verses 16 through 19 jumped off the page at me:

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge..."

Hmmm....the Love that gives to me is the same Love that keeps from me, or takes away.

The same Love that is responsible for divine appointment is also responsible for divine disappointment.

No hurt or disappointment comes to me before it passes through His hands...the Hands of the One who loves me wide and long and high and deep.

The One who loves me, gives...and He also takes away.

Everything has a purpose.

This week I have experienced a divine disappointment at the hands of the One who loves me with a love that surpasses knowledge....and no matter what, I am going to love Him.

His plans are always greater than mine.

I am keeping the faith and clinging to His promises.
